Reprogram your subconscious

Every day we are constantly taking in information around us, both consciously and unconsciously. We're only aware of a small portion of what we see and hear. Marketing uses many different tactics to get you to invest in someone's product, including sabotaging how we feel about ourselves. If you're not ready to unplug from social media and your television, there are some other steps you can do to help overwrite some of the subconscious programs you're running without your awareness.

1. Hypnosis
Hypnosis is a highly-effective way to remove unconscious programs that are controlling behaviors and habits, as well as ways of thinking. A hypnotic state is a deep state of relaxation that allows the critical mind to be purposefully subdued. There are a lot of free hypnosis programs on YouTube, but make sure you're not driving and won't be interrupted. This altered state of consciousness is very effective. I've personally used downloadable mp3 programs from hypnosisdownloads.com, and my very favorite is How to Love Yourself. It's a must have hypnosis script for anyone who has been hard on themselves (that's most of us, right?}.


2. Meditation
Another excellent way to reprogram the mind is to calm it. No better way to do this than to meditate. I've found that there are a lot of very good guided meditations on YouTube, and so many different types. I really love this Loving Kindness meditation that was created for college students at the University of New Hampshire. 

3. Binaurals
Binaurals or binaural beats are composed of two tones (one in each ear) that are slightly different in frequency, your brain processes a beat at the difference of the frequencies. This is called a binaural beat. 

Binaural beats induce a state similar to meditation, but more quickly. They are said to reduce anxiety, increase focus and concentration, lower stress, increase relaxation, uplift mood, promote creativity, and manage pain. One of my favorite binaurals is from Rising Higher Meditation on YouTube, and is meant to be listened to while you're sleeping. I've found that when I'm sitting at my desk at work I can listen to this and still be able to do my job effectively. Check out Positive Affirmations for Self Love. Healing. (432 Hz). It's more than 7 hours of spoken self-love affirmations on top of the 432 Hz frequency.

4. Isochronics
Isochronics (or isochronic tones) are regular beats of a single tone at evenly spaced intervals. These types of tones are used to sync with a specific brainwave frequency – gamma (high concentration and problem solving), beta (active, waking state), alpha (calm and restful), theta (early sleep, daydreaming), and delta (deep sleep or dreaming).

Hypnosis, meditation, binaurals, and isochronics alter your state of consciousness and shouldn't be used while you're doing anything where you need to be fully aware of your surroundings.

5. Subliminals
Subliminal messages have been around for a long time. They were used very successfully in the 1950s until they were banned in 1958 in the United States, the United Kingdom, and Australia. You can use this type of messaging to transform your subconscious. Subliminal messages are typically placed behind music. (If you're interested in customized subliminal programs, please ask me as I do this for myself and others). Unlike other forms of mind programming, you can listen to subliminal messages while you're doing other things.
